CWDS is governed by the Executive Board as mandated by its General Assembly. CWDS has its head office in Kathmandu for organizational administration, financial management, publications, national and international linkages and networking.

Its main field office is at Kakani in Nuwakot district where CWDS has established a Demonstration Farm and Training Centre with basic facilities for setting development examples and providing residential training. Rural development related project activities in Nuwakot district are being implemented and managed by a team of functionaries at the field office. Natural Resource Management is an important area through which the process and practices of organic agriculture are being promoted by a team of professionals. The Demonstration Farm and Training Centre is the hub and learning centre and being developed as the Centre of Excellence in sustainable agriculture, rural development and ecological improvement.

CWDS has also established its second field office in Biratnagar (eastern Nepal) in 1997 for promoting development activities, prominently in local resource base (organic) farming practices. Besides its own offices, CWDS has developed functional contacts with other development NGOs in different parts of Nepal in order to promote sustainable farming practices throughout the country.

Being a full member of IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) since 1992, CWDS is committed to promote the concept and practices of organic agriculture in the country. CWDS has been publishing a quarterly magazine KISAN (meaning FARMER) in Nepali language and being distributed throughout the country. The magazine emphasizes on the promotion of local resource base farming practices and incorporates information related to agriculture, livestock, environment protection and its ecological concerns. There are other casual publications on information and technology related to organic farming and ecological concerns for general distribution throughout the country.
